Technology in the Classroom

Growing up I remember from 10am to about 5am my parents would lock me and my siblings outside to play with each other and neighbors our age. I can tell you that since my childhood that has changed immensely. The addiction to video games, phones, tablets and even more is effect the way our society communicates with each other and not just the generation in it self. Between me and my two little cousins there is about nine and thirteen years between us. Yet the do not know how to communicate with any of us and are always asking for their something electronic to play on.

Knowing I am going into education and how technology is advancing everyday I would need to find a way to include technology inside of my classroom. Throughout high school my teachers would have us play a game called “Kahoots” with is a friendly competition that links our phones. After a while, in a few years, that game may get boring after a while and or the students will be more addicted to social media than their phones. Bringing social media such as instagram, twitter, snapchat and so many more platforms into the classroom. Doing small things such as asking students to tweet a small summary of one of the chapters to a book, or send them hints to homework over a snapchat or instagram story could always be a step in the right direction.

Adding technology into the classroom will one hundred percent be a challenge, it is one that I am ready to face and succeed in.
